This advertisement for BackWeb Technologies appeared in the prototype issue of The Industry Standard in January 1998.
"Because having too much information is just as bad as not having enough."
BackWeb claimed to push relevant information out to the enterprise with its Infocenter product:
"BackWeb’s client/server Infocenter acts as a knowledge repository where relevant information from many sources such as the Web, your intranets, and corporate databases gets delivered to your desktop in an organized manner. Best of all, it’s politely delivered in the background."
The company went public in 1999 and still exists with the same logo and mission, apparently. Though the press release section of the web site contains no product announcements, only patent infringement documents and share deregistration announcements.
